Obligatory toll in Austria - Vignette
All motor vehicles using Austrian motorways and expressways are subject to toll payment. Vignettes are available for ten days, two months, or one year and can be booked easily online.
Toll stickers are available at about 6,000 ticket offices (petrol stations, motorist clubs, toll stations and tobacconist stores). These venues are marked clearly with a badge portraying the toll sticker. Since November 2017, the toll sticker can also be purchased at the ASFINAG webshop. With this solution, the ASFINAG offers drivers of cars and motorcycles an innovative and comfortable alternative to the adhesive vignette.
Toll stickers must be attached to vehicles with a MATW of up to and including 3.5 t (passenger cars, motorcycles, motor homes). With respect to motor vehicles with trailers, toll rates depend only on the maximum admissible total weight of the towing vehicle (no sticker required for trailers). Trucks, busses and motor homes with a MATW of more than 3.5 t are subject to distance-dependent toll and require a GO Box!
Toll stickers are inspected by police officers and the ASFINAG enforcement officers. Substitute toll must be paid on the spot in the event that toll has not been duly paid.

From the Walserberg border crossing to the Salzburg-Nord exit on the A1 (Westautobahn), no highway vignette is required. You will need a highway vignette to use the highway beyond this point.
