Visites guidées - Centrale thermique
The headquarters of the provincial capital's heat supply, the Salzburg Mitte combined heat and power plant, has been supplying Salzburg with district heating since 1955. The modern combined heat and power plant Mitte, built in 2001, generates electricity and heat by means of cogeneration. Its innovative technology achieves the maximum energy yield from natural gas. Compared to separately operated power plants, the HKW Mitte can be operated with about 30 percent less primary energy.
