Gallery Fotohof
The Fotohof, which is located in the Lehen part of Salzburg, is a center for contemporary artistic photography. In addition to a gallery, the Fotohof is home to a remarkable library focusing on the world of photography and to its own publishing house.
The founding of Galerie Fotohof in 1981 gave Salzburg a platform for the presentation of, and involvement with artistic photography. The gallery’s main emphasis is on organizing and presenting exhibitions and talks as well as expanding their comprehensive library and publishing books of photo art.
Fotohof Salzburg is primarily a gallery. It hosts approximately seven exhibitions in Salzburg every year, complemented by traveling exhibitions across Europe and in the USA. In addition, the Fotohof houses a publicly accessible library of photography with approximately 10,000 titles, catalogs and periodicals. This is one of the most extensive and best-developed libraries of photography in Austria since 1945. Verlag Fotohof edition publishes books and catalogs featuring Austrian as well as international photographers.
