Reading the riot act with music
The grand dame and chamber actress of the Salzburg State Theatre, Britta Bayer, collaborates for the first time with the Salzburg ensemble Zelinzki. This programme tells of things that have been there before. Social abysses, political peculiarities, incitement, manipulation, but also other tragedies and amusements of all kinds. And is therefore more topical than ever. One could almost forget how much human love and clear-sighted humanism is inherent in the texts of Kästner, Gernhardt, Schiller, Mühsam and others and the songs of the Zelinzkis - despite everything. In addition, the evening revels in musical abundance, fed by the pens of four composers who could hardly be more different. A symbiosis of the most diverse musical languages and forms succeeds miraculously.
