Bergfilmfestival "Abenteuer Berg Abenteuer Film"
From November 13th to 24th, the Salzburg Mountain Film Festival is celebrating its big birthday Enthusiasm for the mountains and its people and the love for cinema - the drive of the small festival team to organize an international festival for mountain and adventure films in Salzburg is unbroken even after 30 years. Since its founding in 1994, around 220,000 visitors have seen around 1,000 films and over 300 lectures and discussions. The center of the festival is the unique film culture center DAS KINO in Salzburg's old town.
Lectures in German, film programs in original language with German or English subtitles. Program information and online tickets from October 19th at www.daskino.at
DAS KINO has served as the venue for the international mountain film festival "Mountain Adventure – Film Adventure" since 1994. Its top-notch films present the many-faceted dimensions of mountain climbing and alpine sports.
Starting off as a supporting program, part of the event has virtually become a festival of its own: films are shown from every region of the world dealing with nature, the environment or human living conditions, calling attention to ethnographic circumstances.
The Mountain Film Festival in Salzburg is also a forum for contacts and encounters. Discussions on red-hot topics are on the program as well as reports ranging from current medical findings to alpine safety or the effect of global warming.
For the first time in the festival's history, a film prize will be awarded. The LOCAL HEROES AWARD for the best film from Salzburg has a production budget of 3,000 euros for young filmmakers up to the age of 30. Submissions for the LOCAL HEROES AWARD: bergfilmfestival@daskino.at
