Bilderwende, Zeitenwende
Prominent works from the collections of the Museum der Moderne Salzburg were created as a reaction to exceptional internal and external situations and in an endeavour to overcome this experience of crisis with a counter-design. The paintings, prints, photographs and objects on display not only reflect the personal, social and political circumstances at the time of their creation. Rather, these works deal with themes that are more topical than ever in our world, which seems to have come apart at the seams due to the events of war, the consequences of climate change and the increasing polarisation of society.
