Exhibition on the occasion of his 95th birthday
On the occasion of Arnulf Rainer's 95th birthday, the exhibition shows two famous series of works: the Goya series and landscapes from 1983 to 1992. In the Goya series, Rainer reinterprets the works of the Spanish artist Francisco de Goya by painting over them in an expressive way. The landscape paintings reflect Rainer's preoccupation with nature and alternate between abstract and figurative elements.
