The mobility fee

Starting from 1 May 2025, a mobility fee will be introduced in the Province of Salzburg. In return, all overnight guests will receive a ‘Guest Mobility Ticket’. This ticket is valid for the entire duration of their stay, granting access to the full public transport network within the Province of Salzburg. This includes urban transport, regional bus services, suburban railways, regional trains, long-distance trains, and micro-mobility services.

What are the benefits of the Salzburg Verkehr – Guest Mobility Ticket?
From 1 May 2025, the Guest Mobility Ticket will enable all overnight guests to travel freely across all public transport services in the Province of Salzburg for the duration of their stay.

How does the Guest Mobility Ticket differ from the Salzburg Card?
The Guest Mobility Ticket is issued to all overnight guests and allows unlimited travel on public transport throughout the Province of Salzburg. In contrast, the Salzburg Card is available for purchase and offers free admission to museums and attractions within the city of Salzburg, alongside a variety of additional benefits.

Where and for how long is the Guest Mobility Ticket valid?
The Guest Mobility Ticket is valid for the entire duration of your stay, covering all public transport services for your arrival and departure within the Province of Salzburg. Please note that rail travel is included only after check-in.

Where can I obtain the Guest Mobility Ticket?
The Guest Mobility Ticket will be provided upon check-in at your accommodation. If you are arriving by public transport, your host may offer the ticket in advance via email (valid exclusively within the Province of Salzburg). If you wish to receive the ticket in advance, please contact your accommodation provider beforehand.

How is the Guest Mobility Ticket issued?
It is available as a PDF (digital or printable) or as a pass that can be added to a digital wallet on your smartphone.

How much is the Mobility Fee?
The Mobility Fee applies to all individuals subject to the overnight accommodation tax. The current fee is €0.50 per person, per night (for guests aged 15 and over). From 1 May 2027, this fee will increase to €1.10 per person, per night.
