Residenzgalerie Salzburg. Selected Works
The Residence Gallery Salzburg, opened in 1923, follows in the tradition of the archiepiscopal collections. It was established as an additional cultural attraction following the Salzburg Festival, which was initiated three years earlier.
The focus here is on works from Austria, France, Italy, and the Netherlands (Holland and Flanders), thus highlighting the most important modern art landscapes of Europe, which also structure the majority of the collection presentation.
