St. George's Ride to the Fortress

The Georgi Ride takes place in honor of St. George. The riders of the citizen guard, with their decorated horses, ride from the Kapitelplatz to the Hohensalzburg Fortress. A mass is celebrated in the Georgsk chapel in honor of the patron saint, followed by a horse blessing in the courtyard. At the Kapitelplatz, there is a celebration with a beer tent, stalls, and brass band music.
