Water - enjoy it, need and fear it
For many years, the annually changing special exhibitions at the Monatsschlössl folklore museum in Hellbrunn have entered into dialogue with the existing folklore collection, each time highlighting new aspects from an artistic, historical and socially relevant perspective.
Water is essential for life and also life-threatening: humans need, enjoy, and fear it. Extreme weather events are perceived as a danger and are increasing with climate change.
The exhibition addresses contemporary and historical attempts to control water. Historical votive images bear witness to storms and flood disasters.
