From 4 to 16 February 2025, Saalbach, in the Province of Salzburg, will host the Alpine Ski World Championships. A thrilling 34 years after its celebrated 1991 event, the Championship returns, bringing the world’s finest skiers to Saalbach’s iconic slopes.
The 2025 Championships promise an unforgettable experience with exhilarating races, exceptional performances, and spectacular shows, making it the winter event you won’t want to miss.
Visitors from all over the world are expected. Saalbach-Hinterglemm offers around 20,000 accommodation options, with the wider region providing up to 50,000, ensuring fans can enjoy the excitement in person.
Throughout the event, the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn will remain open for all winter sports enthusiasts.

Effortless and Sustainable Travel with ÖBB World Championship Special Trains
From 6 to 16 February, ÖBB will offer 24 additional trains on the route between Vienna and Maishofen-Saalbach. Special direct trains will also operate from Vienna, St. Pölten, and Linz. Regular trains from Vienna and Linz (changing in Salzburg) will run every hour, and travellers from Tyrol and Vorarlberg can change at Wörgl. This convenient service makes same-day travel to and from the event easy and stress-free.
Travel Tip:
Due to expected high demand, early seat reservations are highly recommended.
Upon arrival, Postbuses will offer direct transport to the fan zone. Regular shuttles will run between Maishofen-Saalbach station and the World Championship parking area in Maishofen-Stablberg, providing easy access to the race venue.
