The Orchestra House of the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra [Orchesterhaus]
In the Nonntal district, about a ten-minute walk from the Old Town, lies the Orchestra House of the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra. The modern building is a rehearsal as well as a concert venue.
This distinctive building with its spacious interior, close to the Old Town, was opened in 1991. The 18m x 5.5m mural by Hermann Kremsmayer is part of the Art in Architecture programme. The Orchestra House, home of the Mozarteum Orchestra, opens to the public for the "Heimspiel" [home fixture] concert series, which presents a lesser-known symphonic and chamber-music repertoire in an informal atmosphere facilitating contact between audience and performers.
