Spiritual Opening • Fate | Concert Performance
Since 2012, the Spiritual Opening has dedicated the first days of the Salzburg Festival to the centuries-old tradition of sacred music. In addition to a thematic focus, these concerts are closely tied to the overall program.
Michael Jarrell's work “Kassandra” tells the story of the Trojan priestess and seer Kassandra. Although she foresaw the disasters, no one believed her warnings.
Jarrell's monodrama combines spoken word and music into a compelling whole and breaks with the conventions of the operatic genre.
The performance is in German with English supertitles.
