Salzburg Marathon
Every year in May, Salzburg becomes a stage for sports enthusiasts from all over the world. Since its premiere in 2004, the Salzburg Marathon has become the largest mass sports event in Salzburg, inspiring participants and visitors alike.
The Salzburg Marathon offers a varied program of events over three days for running enthusiasts, families, visitors and the curious. The centerpiece is the marathon day on Sunday, on which thousands of runners from numerous nations run through the historic old town, past world-famous sights and along the Salzach river.
The start and finish area is centrally located in the old town - with a view of the Hohensalzburg Fortress, not only the athletes experience an emotional finale here, but also the spectators a special flair. Along the route, music groups, fan zones and refreshment stations ensure a great atmosphere and good food. Accompanying this, the Sport Mall in the Eisarena Salzburg invites you to discover and participate in sports.
