Berchtesgaden Tour

Salzburg and Bavaria share a long history spanning countless years. The bus tour to Berchtesgaden introduces you to the most important sightseeing attractions on the other side of the border.

Bavaria, here we come!

The four-hour bus tour takes you from the city of Salzburg across the border at Marktschellenberg into Bavaria. Please note: Bring a valid passport in case of border checks. The route follows the scenic Königsseer Ache. Throughout the tour, you can also enjoy views of the impressive Watzmann and the mountain panorama of the Berchtesgaden Alps.

Obersalzberg and Berchtesgaden Salt Mine

The Obersalzberg Documentation provides information about the history of the Obersalzberg and the Nazi dictatorship. Hitler’s former holiday retreat was gradually developed into a restricted area for the Nazi leadership, parts of which have been preserved to this day. Some tour operators combine this stop with a visit to the Berchtesgaden Salt Mine or offer the salt mine as an alternative.

Königssee

Another stop on the tour is a walk along Lake Königssee. Surrounded by the steep rock faces of the Berchtesgaden Alps in Berchtesgaden National Park, the lake shimmers with emerald-green waters. A true highlight of the tour!

Historic Center of Berchtesgaden

A visit to Berchtesgaden’s historic center rounds off the bus tour. Surrounded by time-honored townhouses and impressive churches, the pedestrian zone is perfect for a leisurely stroll and a chance to enjoy the atmosphere. The individually run, family-owned shops offering fashion, culinary specialties, traditional clothing and authentic craftsmanship are well worth a visit.
