Obersalzberg and Salt Mine

Once merely a holiday escape for Hitler, over time it became a restricted zone for the exclusive use of the Führer, parts of which are still preserved today. Many tour operators combine a visit to this information center, or offer as an alternative, a visit to the Berchtesgaden salt mine.

A visit to the market town of Berchtesgaden, famous as a center of arts & crafts, adds the finishing touch to our bus tour. This romantic small town, with its winding lanes and elaborately painted building facades, was seemingly plucked from the pages of a picture book. Also well worth a visit: the abbey of the Augustinian Canons.
