City Walk: Creative Salzburg
Salzburg has a surprisingly contemporary side: unusual architecture, exciting museums, unusual art and versatile galleries provide a fresh perspective of the baroque city. This includes the 14 works of art of the "Walk of Modern Art".
The route: Architecture. Sculptures. Museums.
The starting point for this city walk is Salzburg's main railway station. Alongside of and in the Mirabell Gardens there are works of art, modern architecture and galleries to discover before crossing the Staatsbrücke into the Old Town. Taking the Mönchsberg lift to the Salzburg Museum of Modern Art reveals a symbiosis of public artworks in front of the building and exciting exhibitions inside the museum. The tour continues to the festival district, where sculptures of the "Walk of Modern Art" and public art, among others, provide a new perspective. After a detour to the sculpture garden at Schloss Arenberg, the route concludes at the Künstlerhaus. As a bonus, the Unikum Sky in Nonntal is a great place for a snack and a photo.
