The green takes up about 60 % of the total area in the city of Salzburg, which is 2.5 million square metres of green space. This includes:
- 15 parks: with about 500,000 m², the palace park in Hellbrunn is by far the largest park in the city, followed by the Hans-Donnenberg Park with about 80,000 m² and the Mirabell Gardens and Kurgarten with a total of about 50,000 m².
- 35,000 trees, 22,000 of which are on public land. In the tree cadastre of the city of Salzburg you can find out interesting facts about each individual tree.
- 34 natural monuments: These are old, particularly impressive trees that enrich the urban space with their imposing appearance.
- 40 protected landscape areas: The Leopoldskroner Weiher is particularly worth seeing.
