S-Bahn Salzburg
The S-Bahn provides a fast and environmentally friendly link between Salzburg's old town and the surroundings. Optimal connections to regional and inner-city bus lines make the switch from car to train even more attractive.
The S-Bahn Salzburg connects the Salzburg central area with an attractive rail timetable service. The lines are operated by ÖBB (S2 + S3), the Salzburg Local Railways (S1 + S11), and the Bavarian Regiobahn (S4).
- Line S1 Lamprechtshausen – Salzburg Main Station: daily every half hour, every 15 minutes during peak hours
- Line S2 Straßwalchen – Salzburg Main Station - Freilassing: daily every hour
- Line S3 Bad Reichenhall – Freilassing – Schwarzach St. Veit - Saalfelden: daily every half hour between Freilassing and Golling-Abtenau
- Line S4 Berchtesgaden – Freilassing: daily every hour
- Line S11 Ostermiething – Bürmoos: daily every hour, occasionally supplemented by additional trips to/from Salzburg
