Where can I find a taxi
A taxi is a quick, simple way of getting from A to B in Salzburg. Whether to or from train station, airport, Old Town or hotel – a taxi will be there in minutes.
How to order a taxi in Salzburg?
There are many taxi ranks in the town centre and at major infrastructure facilities such as the airport and Shopping malls. Taxis can be ordered by phone (e.g. Taxi 8111), via app (e.g. Das Salzburger Taxi on iOS and Android) or online. Advance bookings are also possible.
Our tip: many restaurants, hotels, etc. have a VIP number, which will give priority to your order.
How much does a taxi ride cost?
A trip from the airport into the town centre costs around € 12, depending on the distance and the traffic situation. In Salzburg, the cost is regulated by law; a taximeter is compulsory in the core area. A basic fare of € 3.50 is charged for orders, though not for rides directly from the taxi rank.
What payment methods are possible?
Since May 2019 every taxi is equipped with card machines; so you can pay the driver in cash, or use a debit or credit card. The 8111 taxi company also offers a pre-paid voucher system.
Should I tip the driver?
A tip is not obligatory, but will be gladly accepted.
